Gardner Edgerton USD 231 Board of Education members will serve on the following committees during the 2012-2013 school year:
Education Services Advisory Committee
Dr. Christy Ziegler, Chairperson. Board Members: Mark Grannell and Mike McNulty. The committee reviews topics related to curriculum, instruction and testing, including proposed curriculum and textbook adoptions. Review Quality Performance Assessment (QPA) and No Child Left Behind (NCLB) programs, Building Report Cards and Federal programs.

Construction Committee
Gary Diener, Chairperson. Board Members: Randy Fruits and James Repshire. The committee advises the board on construction and facility-related issues such as bids, change orders, easements, construction projects, construction contracts and long-range capital improvement projects. Due to bond issue approval and construction meetings involving Bond projects, the past six month's meeting minutes are provided.

Finance & Internal Operations Committee
Jeremy McFadden, Chairperson. Board Members: Ron Ragan and Mike McNulty. The committee reviews the business activity of the school district. Committee is responsible for oversight of the operating, special revenue, capital outlay, disbursements, special fund transfers and bond funds.

Planning and Facility Committee
Gary Diener, Chairperson. Board Members: Tim Rayburn & Mary Herbert. The committee advises the board on demographic planning, enrollment projections, facility design, school utilization, school boundaries, and purchase of land. Due to bond issue approval and planning and facility meetings involving Bond projects, the past six month's meeting minutes are provided. Legislative Coalition
Dr. Bill Gilhaus, Chairperson. Board Member: Ron Ragan. The committee educates the community about educational issues in the legislature and garners support for these issues. Develops a set of recommendations that are submitted to members of the Kansas Legislature. Meets on an as-needed basis.
