Summer Lunch and Back Pack Program is Back

For the third year, USD 231 Nutritional Services received approval by the Kansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to continue the Summer Back Pack Program at Gardner Elementary, 218 E. Shawnee St. 

Children between the ages of 1-18 are eligible to receive a back pack containing two breakfast and two lunches for weekend meals. The back packs are distributed at 11 a.m. on Fridays during the Summer Food Service breakfast and lunch program at Gardner Elementary. Backpacks will be distributed for eight weeks on Friday's beginning June 7 and ending on Friday July 26.  The maximum number of back packs  that can be distributed each week is 188. 

The Summer Food Program  for children between the ages of 1-18 will begin on June 3 and continue through July 26.  No services will be provided on July 4. 

Breakfast is served 7:30 - 8:30 a.m., Monday through Friday

Lunch is served 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Monday through Friday

Free: Children between the ages of 1-18. 

Adults: $2.00 Breakfast  / Adults: $3.50 Lunch
