1.3 Presentation: Educational Services Assessment Update

Dr. Christy Zeigler shared Preliminary Results of the 2012 Assessment Tests.  Preliminary results show continued academic progess districtwide.

6.0 Action to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Issuance and Delivery of $50,795,000 Principal Amount of General Obligation Refunding and Improvement

Bonds, Series 2013-A of USD #231, Johnson County, Kansas (Gardner Edgerton);Prescribing the Form and Details of Said Bonds; Providing for the Levy and Collection of an Annual Tax for the Purpose of Paying the Principal and Interest on Said Bonds as They Become Due; and Authorizing Certain Other Documents and Actions in Connection Therewith – Jeremy McFadden

6.1 Action to Approve 2013-14 Health Insurance Renewal – Jeremy McFadden

It was recommended by the Benefits and Finance Committee to approve Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City as the Health Insurance Carrier.  Approved 6-0

 

6.2 Action to Approve 2013-14 Dental Insurance Renewal – Jeremy McFadden

It was recommended by the Benefits and Finance Committee to approve Delta Dental as the Dental Insurance Carrier.  Approved 6-0

 

6.3 Action to Approve School Colors and Mascot for Grand Star Elementary

School, Gary Diener

It was recommended by the students attending Grand Star Elementary from Moonlight, Nike and Gardner  elementaries to approve the mascot for the new school to be the Timberwolves and the colors to be gray and blue.  Approved 6-0.

 

6.4 Action to Direct Manning Construction to Enter into Contracts for the Moonlight Elementary School Driveways Project, Gary Diener

Approved 6-0

 

6.5 Action to Approve District-Wide Asphalt Projects for Summer 2013, Gary Diener

Approved 6-0

 

6.6 Action to Approve Modifications to Bond Project Scopes of Work, Gary Diener

6.7 Action to Approve Proposed Policy Section 6000 (Personnel), Dr. Bill Gilhaus

6.8 Action to Approve All Day Kindergarten Fee for 2013-14 – Dr. Christy Ziegler

Recommended to increase All Day Kindergarten Fees to $5 per week.  The annual fee of $2,450.  Approved 6-0

 

6.9 Action to Approve Early Childhood Peer Model Fee and Pay-Rider Peer Model Transportation Fee, Dr. Judy Martin

The Finance Committee approved recommendation for the Board to approve the following:

--Set the pre-school Peer Model fees to $1850 per school year, with a 10 percetn early pay discount available.'

--Set the transportation pay rider fee at $22.50 per mont hfor studnets not requiring transporation for an IEP

--Set the ADK fee at $70 per week, or $2450 per school year.
