What We Do

In order to provide students with world class learning opportunities, we believe it is essential that our teachers are encouraged and supported in furthering their own professional learning.  The Gardner Edgerton School District is committed to providing our teachers and support staff with on-going opportunities for professional growth.

With the opening of Madison Elementary in the fall of 2005, the district initiated a new model for professional development by providing a site-based professional support mentor.  This mentor holds the responsibility of supporting all staff with the integration of technologies into teaching and learning while also focusing on research-based instructional practices.  Teachers are able to continue their learning while also developing and implementing lessons with support through the entire process.  The opportunity to collaboration with the instructional specialists provides our teachers with on-going support to implement best practices in the classroom.

Our district professional development plan supports a results-based approach to learning opportunities.  By keeping the end result in mind, the improvement of learning opportunities for all students, we stay on track for continued academic achievement and successful learning opportunities for all students attending Gardner Edgerton schools.
