What We Do
We serve 3,000 lunches every day!
USD 231 participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. Breakfast Menus are planned to meet 1/4 of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) for students and 1/3 of the RDA at lunch, based on age appropriate standards. Students may select the foods that they wish to eat. Under the offer vs. serve program students must take at least two menu items daily. Ala Carte items are available at Pioneer Ridge, Wheatridge and GEHS.
The food service department uses Meal Tracker, a computerized system that allows students to prepay any amount into their child's account. When the student selects a meal, the amount is deducted from the account. Student accounts are carried over each year.
Food Service Policy states that all meals are to be paid for in advance. Please refer to your child's school handbook which outlines the account management guidelines for his/her building.
