Partners in your Child’s Education
Parent Information

For District Parents

Gardner Edgerton USD 231 believes that parents are our partners in the education of your children, and encourages all parents to become actively involved in the educational process.  There are many ways to become involved and to stay in touch with teachers:

  • Attend Parent Teacher Conferences, held every October and February
  • Join your school's Parent Teacher Organization or Booster Club
  • Volunteer at your child's school
  • Attend school functions
  • Have lunch with your child at school
  • Support your child's classroom teacher through postive interactions
  • Communicate with your child's teacher...every teacher in the district has voice mail and an email address
  • Review your teacher web pages via the school's website
  • Sign up for your free Connections account to monitor student progress
  • Read with your child(ren)
  • Ask your child "What happened at school today?"

These are just a few suggestions. We encourage you to contact your child's school or the district with any questions you may have.
